A 42-year-old Mountain Home man charged with three counts of sexual indecency with a child appeared during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Monday (June 2).
Andrew Britt pled guilty to the charges against him and was sentenced to six years in prison with two suspended and four to serve.
He will also be required to register as a sex offender.
Circuit Judge John Putman was hesitant to accept the plea initially. He said the sentence seemed “awful light” given the allegations.
He was told that the state and all other parties agreed that the punishment was adequate given the circumstances.
He was arrested in early April last year. Investigators said Britt admitted to inappropriately touching an underage female several times and exposing himself to her.
Most of the information pertaining to the case has been sealed by the court to protect the victim.
Britt has been free on a $25,000 bond.
