MacLeod team wins first game of State tournament

The MacLeod American Legion baseball team defeated Huntsville in the first game of the State tournament Monday night with a final score of 16-3.

Owen Morris started the game on the mound for Mountain Home going five and one third innings, giving up just two runs on four hits and striking out nine.

Rowan Askew, Wade Miller, Cole Tilton and Grady Pitcock led MacLeod with two hits each. Will Morris, Noah Davis and Layne Helton each added a hit a piece.

MacLeod will be back in action Tuesday as they take on Conway with first pitch set for 7:30.
