Lockeroom keeps rolling in State Tournament

The Mountain Home Lockeroom American Legion baseball team keeps on rolling as they were triumphant over the Bryant Black Sox 4-2 on Sunday in the AAA State tournament.

Bryant was the first to get on the board in the second when Rico Simmons laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run.

Mason Sinclair doubled, which helped Mountain Home Lockeroom tie the game at one in the bottom of the second.

In the bottom of the fourth, Lester White’s boys broke up the tie when Jackson Corp hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. Then a single by Finley Chafin followed to extend the lead to 4-1.

Sinclair earned the win for Lockeroom. The righty surrendered four hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking three. Blake Brower started on the bump for Bryant Black Sox. The starter allowed six hits and four runs over five innings, striking out five and walking three.

Chafin, Sinclair, and Corp each drove in one run for Mountain Home. Sinclair led the team with three hits in three at bats. Cash Arnhart collected two hits in three at bats.

Mountain Home Lockeroom will play in the championship game Tuesday with first pitch set for 5:30.
