Lockeroom struggles in first game of Mid-South Regional

Mountain Home Lockeroom couldn’t keep pace with Columbia, Tennessee, in a 12-2 loss Wednesday at the American Legion Mid-South Regional Tournament.
Lockeroom struck first in the top of the first inning when Ryder McClain hit a sacrifice fly to bring in the opening run. But Columbia answered quickly in the bottom half and pulled away with a five-run start over the first two innings.Mountain Home starter Maddex Chism took the loss. He allowed five runs, three earned, on six hits over two innings. He walked one and did not record a strikeout.

McClain and Lincoln Sherry each notched a hit for Lockeroom. McClain and Xander McCandlis each drove in one run.

Mountain Home was limited to two hits in the game and was unable to capitalize on five walks issued by Columbia’s starter, who struck out four over three and two-thirds innings.

The loss moves Lockeroom to the elimination bracket, they will take on Moberly, Missouri with first pitch set for 9:30 Thursday morning.
