A Searcy County man is facing 12 charges for a wild night where he allegedly shot out a tire on the car of his ex-girlfriend, threatened multiple people, drove drunk and thought he had hidden his gun in his marijuana bag which he called his purse. Six of the 12 charges against 35-year-old Logan Allen Treat of Saint Joe are felonies.
According to the probable cause affidavit from the Searcy County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened in the Silver Hill community south of St. Joe. Multiple witnesses told the responding deputy Treat showed up at his ex-girlfriend’s house and said he had already had a confrontation with two other people and he was ready to fight some more. He threatened his ex and then went outside and shot a tire on her car. Treat then left and the three females in the house and a minor child went to the sheriff’s office.
When the deputy arrived, Treat drove up and, after first denying he had a gun, told law enforcement it was in his truck in his “purse”. The deputy found the bag that Treat said had the gun, but inside was a label that said Flora Farms Marijuana along with…marijuana. The gun turned out to be on the floorboard.
During a probable cause search of truck, law enforcement found, in addition to the marijuana, two vapes with waxy residue.
Treat smelled of intoxicants, and since he had driven to where the deputies were, he was asked to do a portable breathalyzer test which showed he had a blood alcohol level of .125, above the legal limit of .08.
Treat is facing four counts of first degree terroristic threatening, and one count each of aggravated assault and first degree endangering the welfare an incompetent person, all felonies. Misdemeanor charges include criminal mischief, Driving while intoxicated, third degree domestic battery, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a schedule VI controlled substance and public intoxication. His bond is set at $5,000.
