Hot Springs will commemorate the 77th anniversary of Babe Ruth’s death Saturday with a wreath-laying ceremony at the entrance to Majestic Park.

The event is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. at the base of the eight-foot bronze statue of Ruth, one of only three such statues in the world. The tribute coincides with the 2025 Babe Ruth League World Series being held at Majestic Park, where Ruth once played and practiced in the early 1900s.

Tournament director Tom Wright, Majestic Park general manager Derek Phillips and members of two World Series teams will participate in the ceremony.

Ruth, one of baseball’s most celebrated figures, died Aug. 16, 1948.
