
Students of the Gainesville school district will be met with new updates to campus as they return to classes Monday. With a theme this year of “Culture is Contagious” administrators, educators and staff are focused on providing students a safe and nurturing environment to help them succeed.
Renovations and new signage are among the projects worked on this summer according to Superintendent Justin Gilmore.

Like Arkansas, Missouri recently passed a similar no cell phone policy statewide. Gilmore says they will add the new rules to their already strict phone policy.

With a growing track and cross country program the district is taking the steps this year to secure funding to update the aging track on the campus.

Free breakfast for all will be provided for all students this year with 72 percent of students on the free and reduced lunch program. With Gainesville being on a 4 day week schedule a student led program sends children in need extra food home for the long weekend.
Like kindergarten enrollment numbers in it’s neighbor state to the south, Gainesville is also seeing a smaller kindergarten class but overall enrollment numbers are higher than last school year.
Superintendent Gilmore says his staff will continue to work their strategic plan and work this year to give the students the best experience possible.
