
The Mountain Home Bombers, coming off a 10-3 season and a state semifinals appearance, opened the 2025 campaign in Quitman with their AAA benefit game against the Joe T. Robinson Senators. The varsity portion ended in a 14-14 draw. The starters on both sides of the ball for the Bombers and Senators played the first half and the opening drive of the 3rd quarter. The full game final score was 17-14 in favor of the Senators.
The Senators struck first on an 83-yard touchdown pass from Reece Simpson to Hakim Frampton to open the scoring in the first quarter. Frampton, a 1 man wrecking crew, was able to force and recover a fumble and return it 60-plus yards inside the 10 yard line. The Senators would cash in 2 plays later to take a 14-0 lead.
The Bombers were able to get on the scoreboard after Carter Adkins jumped in front of a short pass and housed it for a 38 yard interception return for a touchdown. Here’s how it sounded on the Bomber Sports Network.

The Bombers were able to hold strong and only trail the Senators 14-7 at halftime. On the Bombers lone 3rd quarter varsity drive, they were able to march down the field on a 10 play, 53 yard drive capped off by a 2 yard rushing touchdown by Connor Schulz. After an Isaac Ballard extra point the Bombers ended the varsity portion of the exhibition game 14-14. Joe T. Robinson would tack on a field goal to end the full game scrimmage 17-14.
Bomber quarterback, Brantlee Phillips, finished the night 8-14 passing for 50 yards, and rushed 9 times for a total of 79 yards. Schulz finished the night with 59 yards on 11 carries and 1 touchdown.
Mountain Home Head Coach Steve Ary says his team has a lot of kinks to work out but believes they will get it done.

The Bombers will not play again until August 29th when they hit the road for the Battle of the Border against West Plains.
In the Junior High game the Bombers were victorious over the Senators by the score of 14-0 in the 9th grade varsity portion. The big play of the game came when Hudson Speer of the Bombers jumped in from of a screen pass and ran it back for a pick-6 to cap off a good night for the Junior Bombers.
