Sheila Wingard has officially announced her candidacy for Mayor of the City of Gassville, following the retirement announcement of Mayor Jeff Braim.

Wingard, a longtime resident of Baxter County, has been active in Gassville civic life for many years. She relocated her business to Gassville in 2010 and currently serves on the city’s Planning and Zoning Committee. She has also served on city councils, advisory boards, and multiple planning and zoning commissions throughout her career.

With more than 20 years of experience as a successful business owner, Wingard said her background in both private enterprise and public service has prepared her to take on the responsibilities of mayor. She has also been a strong supporter of the city’s Police and Fire Departments and has assisted with the campaigns of city, county, and state officials.

Raised in a military family, Wingard lived in communities across the United States before settling in Baxter County four decades ago. She later chose to make Gassville her home, where she has become a familiar face in both business and community affairs.

KTLO, Classic Hits and the Boot News spoke with Wingard, who says if elected, her focus will be on growth.
