
The Mountain Home City Council will meet in regular session Thursday at 5 in the council chambers of the Municipal Building on Hickory Street.
Items on the agenda include a resolution authorizing a public hearing regarding the abandonment of road and utility easements in the city. The council will also hear the second reading of two ordinances presented by Clay Strain, one amending the city’s zoning ordinance to address commercial building facades and another updating parking lot and landscaping regulations.
An ordinance amending the city’s fire prevention code to update safety standards and repealing a prior ordinance will be presented by Fire Chief Shawn Lofton. Lofton will also present an ordinance requiring use of the Arkansas 811 program before excavating or demolishing property, which prescribes penalties if damage occurs.
The meeting will also include committee reports, announcements and comments from the public.
