The St. Louis Cardinals activated outfielder/first baseman Alec Burleson from the 10-day injured list and selected the contract of left-handed pitcher Nick Raquet from Triple-A Memphis.

Right-hander Andre Granillo was optioned to Memphis, and infielder/outfielder Garrett Hampson was designated for assignment.

Raquet, 29, signed with St. Louis as a minor league free agent in January 2024 after playing the previous season with the York Revolution of the independent Atlantic League. Originally a third-round pick by the Washington Nationals in 2017 out of William & Mary, Raquet went 10-4 with a 1.68 ERA, eight saves and 57 strikeouts in 48 1/3 innings this season between Double-A Springfield and Memphis. His 10 wins led all Cardinals minor league pitchers.

Burleson, who missed nine games with right wrist inflammation, leads the Cardinals with a .286 batting average and ranks second on the team with 16 home runs and 60 RBIs.

Raquet, a State College, Pa., native, will wear No. 70. If he appears in the series against the Mariners, he would become the third Cardinals player to make his major league debut against Seattle, joining Audry Pérez (2013) and So Taguchi (2002).

Hampson appeared in 35 games for St. Louis this season.
