American Legion Auxiliary Unit 52 to hold fundraiser to benefit Girls State Program

A brisket dinner fundraiser is scheduled for Monday from 4 to 6 at the Mountain Home American Legion Post 52. Proceeds from the dinner will go toward sending students to the Arkansas Girls State Program, a long-running initiative designed to teach high school juniors about government and civic engagement. The American Legion Auxiliary in Arkansas has sponsored the Girls State program for more than 80 years. During the session, attendees also visit the State Capitol to observe lawmakers in action and hear from guest speakers representing business, civic and political spheres.
