
A Missouri woman charged with stealing merchandise from a local business on multiple occasions appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court/Criminal Division last Monday.
The attorney representing 48-year-old Cambria Crosby, who lists an address in Nixa, entered a not guilty plea on her behalf to the charges against her.
According to the probable cause affidavit, asset protection staff at the store detained Crosby on July 28 after she is reported to have exited the business with a shopping cart containing unpaid for merchandise.
A renew of internal transaction records and video surveillance tapes revealed that Crosby had allegedly been involved in at least a dozen separate thefts from March 25 through July 28.
The thefts primarily involved utilizing the “skip-scan” method at the store’s self-service checkout stations.
Total value of the merchandise taken was estimated to be almost $1,900.
Crosby is charged with theft of property and is free on $5,000 bond. She is being represented by Mountain Home attorney Emily Reed, according to court records.
