The Mountain Home City Council will meet Thursday evening with several items on the agenda, including updated rules for commercial building facades and landscaping, a property tax resolution, and the proposed sale of city owned land near the Dr. Ray Stahl Soccer Complex.
The meeting is set for 5 at City Hall, 720 Hickory Street.
Council members are expected to vote on the third reading of two ordinances. One would update the city’s zoning code on commercial facades, clarifying what types of siding and materials are allowed. Another would overhaul the city’s parking lot and landscaping regulations, requiring permits and setting new standards for trees, shrubs, and buffers around developments.
New business includes a resolution to levy the city’s annual 2-mill property tax, which funds city operations, and an ordinance repealing several older sign ordinances that have since been replaced.
Also up for discussion are two resolutions tied to a tract of city owned land near the Dr. Ray Stahl Soccer Complex. The measures would waive competitive bidding and authorize the $5,000 sale of the 11,000-square-foot parcel to Arctic Heating and Cooling, which owns adjoining property.
Mayor Hillrey Adams and City Clerk Scott Liles will present items during the meeting.
The council will also hear committee reports, bank reconciliations, and announcements before moving into the agenda items.
