Much needed 1-2″ of rain possible; storm threat looms for Tuesday

An unsettled weather pattern is expected to affect the area over the coming days with a good chance of some much needed rain.Starting Monday the National Weather Service (NWS) has placed Northern Arkansas in a 1 out of 5 chance for severe weather. Main threats into the afternoon will be strong winds out of the south east upwards of 30 miles per hour. Not much rain is expected to fall across the area Monday.Tuesday will see an increase chance for severe weather and accumulating rain showers. The main threat will be thunderstorms, damaging wind gusts and large
hail. Rain amounts will be heaviest wherever the front stalls. Over Northern Arkansas the NWS shows the chance of 1-2 inches of rain possible through Wednesday. Heavier rain will concentrate in central and southern portions of the state.To date for the month of May only half an inch of rain has been recorded at KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot.

Stay weather aware this week especially Tuesday morning through afternoon were the strongest threat of severe weather will impact the area.
