Cardinals open home series against Pirates Tuesday night

The St. Louis Cardinals will begin a home series Tuesday night against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Busch Stadium.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:45.

St. Louis enters the matchup with a 27-19 overall record and sits third in the National League Central Division. The Cardinals have won four straight games against Pittsburgh this season.

The Pirates come into the game at 24-23 overall after dropping three consecutive contests.

Matthew Liberatore is expected to start on the mound for the Cardinals. Liberatore is 2-2 this season with a 4.40 earned run average.

Pittsburgh is scheduled to counter with Mitch Keller, who enters with a 4-2 record and a 3.59 ERA.

Jordan Walker continues to lead the Cardinals offensively with 13 home runs on the season.

The Cardinals have gone 6-4 over their last 10 games while posting a team ERA of 2.60 during that stretch.
