Razorbacks open SEC Tournament play Wednesday against Tennessee

The 12th-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks baseball will begin Southeastern Conference Tournament play Wednesday afternoon against 23rd-ranked Tennessee Volunteers baseball at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in Alabama.

Arkansas received a first-round bye in the single-elimination tournament and enters as the No. 7 seed. Tennessee advanced to the second round after defeating South Carolina 11-6 Tuesday.

First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 with the game televised on SEC Network.

The Razorbacks enter the matchup with a 36-19 overall record, while Tennessee is 38-19 on the season.

Tate McGuire is expected to start on the mound for Arkansas. The right-hander is 1-0 with a 4.61 earned run average in 18 appearances this season.

Tennessee is scheduled to counter with left-hander Evan Blanco, who enters with a 7-3 record and a 4.56 ERA.

With a win, Arkansas would advance to Friday’s quarterfinal round against Texas Longhorns baseball.
