The United States Marshals Service arrested a Fort Smith man Tuesday afternoon wanted on domestic battery and probation warrants.

Authorities said Thomas David Hagy was taken into custody at the Hydration Station on Wheeler Avenue in Fort Smith.

According to officials, Hagy was wanted on a probation absconder warrant issued by the State of Arkansas along with a separate warrant from the Fort Smith Police Department for second-degree domestic battery involving a victim under the age of 12.

Investigators said the Fort Smith case stemmed from an investigation involving an infant child that began May 19.

Officials said the arrest was made through a partnership between the Fort Smith Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service aimed at locating and arresting violent fugitives.

The U.S. Marshals Service said its task forces combine federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to locate dangerous fugitives and reduce violent crime.
