Veterans Memorial Day ceremony on MH square Monday at 11

The North Central Arkansas Veterans Council (NCAVC) will host the annual Memorial Day commemoration Monday at Veterans Plaza 2000.

The ceremony will begin at 11 Monday morning with VFW Post 3246 serving as host organization.

Chairman of NCAVC David Butts will open the program, with Senior Vice Commander of VFW 3246 Greg Hartman serving as master of ceremonies.

The invocation and closing prayer will be led by Chaplin Jack Tofari. Raquel Houk will perform the national anthem.

The keynote address will be delivered by State Rep. for District 3, Stetson Painter.

Participating organizations scheduled to present colors and honors include VFW Post 3246, American Legion Post 52, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 30, Twin Lakes of the Ozarks Fleet Reserve Association Branch 251 and United States Submarine Veterans – Twin Lakes Base.

Military honors and Taps will be provided by the honor guard from American Legion Post 52.

KTLO will provide patriotic music, sound for the ceremony and live radio coverage on KTLO-FM 97.9. Audio of the event will also be streamed online at KTLO.com. On-air coverage is brought to you by H&R Block.

Coffee and cupcakes will be served at VFW Post 3246 immediately following the ceremony.

In the event of severe weather, including heavy rain or a tornado warning, the ceremony will be moved indoors to VFW Post 3246. Any location changes will be announced on KTLO Radio and on KTLO.com.
