Izard County School livestock team shines at County Fair livestock show

The Izard County School Livestock Team earned top honors at the recent Izard County Fair Livestock Show, capturing 10 overall grand champion titles, two reserve overall grand champions, 64 grand champions, 35 reserve grand champions, 12 showmanship champions, two herdsman awards and high point awards in cattle, sheep, dairy goats, dairy cattle, swine and market goats.




Team members turned in strong performances across every division. In cattle, Hazel Burns, Faith Crider, Jacee Morehead, Akynna Nielsen, Savannah Nielsen, Ari Walters, Carsen Cooper and Kacee Morehead claimed multiple champion and reserve titles, including overall grand champion bull and high point cattle honors. In swine, Chesney Helm, Kacee Morehead, Walters, Morehead, Payson Speake, Charleigh Barnes, Casper Selph and Crider collected numerous awards, highlighted by Helm’s overall grand champion breeding swine and swine high point titles.



The team also swept dairy cattle, dairy goat and sheep categories with top awards going to Crider, Morehead, Kacee Morehead, Gabriel Payne, Joseph Payne, Helm and Cooper. In meat and market goats, Charleigh Barnes, Andrew McCue, Clayton Crider and Morehead earned major wins, including overall grand champion buck and high point awards. Additional champions were named in horses, poultry and rabbits, with Jacee Morehead, Crider, Helm, Kacee Morehead, Makaelynn Wood and Rylee Wood all earning titles.
