The Arvest Foundation has awarded a $5,000 grant to the Bob Davis Veterans Center in Mountain Home to help cover grocery and utility expenses.
The nonprofit provides food, shelter, clothing, counseling, job training, and placement assistance to homeless veterans in Baxter County. The center houses 18 veterans and also serves as a gathering place for community, fellowship, and recreation.
Arvest Bank associates joined Scott Copeland, president of Arvest BankNorth Arkansas, in presenting the check to Joanna Baxter Farris and a group of local veterans and Davis Center representatives.
“We are honored to support the Bob Davis Veterans Center and their work on behalf of veterans in north Arkansas,” Copeland said. “We hope this Arvest Foundation grant helps the organization continue its vital work with veterans in our community.”
Farris said the support from Arvest will help the center continue serving local veterans with dignity and pride.
