
The Mountain Home School Board approved a number of personnel changes during its meeting Thursday night, including new hires, transfers, resignations and coaching assignments for the 2026-27 school year.
Among the certified staff changes, the district approved the hiring of Brentton Corie as a special education teacher at Hackler Intermediate School, Robin Carlton as counselor at Pinkston Middle School and Christina Meurer as a special education teacher at Mountain Home High School.
The board also approved several transfers, including Melissa Puett moving from Pinkston Middle School to Hackler Intermediate as a certified teacher, Cheryl Human transferring to become library media specialist at Nelson Wilks Herron Elementary and Haley Moore moving from Guy Berry College and Career Academy to the junior high as a special education teacher.
Retirements approved included Karen Johnson at Pinkston Middle School and band director Jill Chentnik. Resignations included Kim Caton, Madelene Hughes and Devin Rodgers.
On the classified side, the district approved multiple transportation hires and transfers, including Bud Baker, Kelly Smith, Jordan Campbell, Nathan Criner, Dustin Rose and James Reed as bus drivers. Several special education paraprofessional positions were also filled at Nelson Wilks Herron and Hackler Intermediate School.
The board also approved numerous coaching and activity stipend assignments for the upcoming school year. Cody Matheny was approved as junior high team leader and assistant girls soccer coach. Haley Mattick was approved as high school class sponsor, while Shelby Henry was named seventh-grade head volleyball coach.
Additional coaching assignments included Brandy Davis as seventh-grade assistant girls basketball coach, Skyler King as seventh-grade head girls basketball coach, Krista Bailey as seventh-grade spirit squad coach and Lexy Baxter as junior high assistant volleyball coach.
Collin Oxford was approved as junior high head track coach, while Kyle Stephens was approved as junior high head baseball coach. Marcie Cudworth and Noah Chagnon were approved as assistant cross country coaches, and Roddy Patrick was named head cross country coach.
Karson Douglas and Roddy Patrick were approved as high school assistant track coaches. Tyler Blasdel was approved as head girls soccer coach, Brock Vigna as high school assistant wrestling coach and Joshua Hefner as head boys wrestling coach.
Teacher of the Year honors and stipends were also approved, with Kristi Seawright receiving a $1,000 Teacher of the Year stipend and Steve Mendleski receiving the Richard Padget Award stipend.
