A pursuit yesterday by Baxter County Sheriff's Deputies has led to the arrest of 38-year-old Jason Chorba of Mountain Home. The chase first began with the suspect on a motorcycle, then fleeing on foot. According Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, the Sheriff's office received a call around 1:30 in the afternoon regarding a suspicious male on a motorcycle driving around an abandoned house on Tucker Cemetery Road.
When deputies tried to make contact with the Chorba, he was near a barn located down a trail from a house at 2144 Tucker Cemetery Rd. Chorba accelerated his motorcycle toward the residence with deputies in pursuit. He eventually crashed his motorcycle into a wooden fence, jumped a barbwire fence and continued running away from deputies until he gave up approximately three quarters of a mile away. During the arrest, officers found a pipe used for drugs.
Officers discovered Chorba had outstanding warrants for his arrest in Baxter County and with the Mountain Home Police Department. He was booked into the Baxter County Jail on eight misdemeanor charges, two counts of failure to appear and a civil body attachment for non-payment of child support with a bond set at $5,485. He is scheduled to appear in Baxter County District Court February second.
