Rachel Murray/Getty Images for The Brent Shapiro FoundationVan Halen frontman David Lee Roth recently surprised a bunch of dudes who were listening to the band’s music at a Las Vegas bachelor party by knocking on their hotel-room door and introducing himself to them, although it’s not clear if the young guys recognized him.

A video of the encounter, which apparently happened early this month, has been posted on Roth’s official YouTube channel.

In the clip, Diamond Dave asks members of his entourage which room the Van Halen music was coming from, then knocks on the door.

When one of the revelers answers, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer declares, with a laugh, “We heard some Van Halen here and my name is David Lee Roth, and I’m right across the hallway!”

He shakes the guys hand and continues, “We’re on our way to EDC [Electric Daisy Carnival], but the fellas here were coming down the hallway and they said, ‘S***, we heard some Van Halen,’ and I said, ‘No s***!’ So we’re your neighbors, guys.”

A bunch of the party-goers then come to the door to see what’s going on, and one of them invites Dave to come back to the bash after the concert event.

Another one of the guys at the party apologizes to Roth for the noise they’re planning to make later, but Dave says, “No, don’t.”

Roth and his crew then leave and walk to the elevators, while Dave comments with a big grin, “It’s so f***ing funny, right?”

Before the elevator arrives. One of the partying dudes comes down the hall to again apologize about the noise, but doesn’t seem to grasp who Dave is.

As the clip ends, Roth shakes the guy’s hand and tells him, “Don’t worry about noise, smoke, off-color humor.”
