A local festival that began last year is returning this weekend. The Celebrate Lakeview Festival will be held Saturday at the Lloyd Travis Municipal Center and Lakeview City Park.

Last year’s event was held as a celebration of the rededication of the city’s freedom bell and the 50th anniversary of the opening of Beaman Realty. Festival organizer Judy Behling says they had positive feedback which led to the decision to have it a second time.

Behling says most of the activities are scheduled from 10 until 4, but there will be some earlier events as well.

Musical entertainment will be provided throughout the day headlined by Nashville recording artist Ali Morgan. Morgan has opened for nationally-known artists, including Amy Grant. The New Country Grass Band will also perform, and a square dance event in the pavilion is a possibility.

Behling says there will be several more activities for people of all ages.
