The Humane Society of North Central Arkansas is again being recognized nationally for its success in its mission to save pets’ lives. The local no-kill shelter has received a $10,000 grant from the Petco Foundation to extend its ability to support the lifesaving efforts in the Twin Lakes Area of helping prepare shelter animals for adoption and helping community pets.
The investment will help shelter animals receive vaccinations and spay/neuter surgeries, medications or veterinary care. It will also provide vouchers for community pets and community cats to get spayed or neutered.
Since 1999, the Petco Foundation has invested more than $260 million in lifesaving animal welfare work. The foundation has over 4,000 animal welfare partners, and through its “Think Adoption First” program, it partners with Petco stores and animal welfare organizations throughout the United States to increase pet adoptions. According to the Petco Foundation, it has helped over six million pets find new families. Learn more at petcofoundation.org.
