The Bakersfield R-IV School District has been on its second round of a transition to virtual learning for the past 2 1/2 weeks due to issues with COVID-19, but students will be returning to the classroom. Superintendent Dr. Amy Britt says the campus will reopen for on-site instruction beginning Tuesday.

Dr. Britt says the students handled this latest round of virtual learning well, but they’re excited to return to the classroom because nothing replaces seated learning.

Dr. Britt adds there will be a small portion of students in quarantine and staff in isolation due to positive cases or close contacts, but for the vast majority, the quarantining period will have elapsed.
