Friday basketball schedule includes MHHS playing at Greenwood

High school basketball makes up the local Friday schedule, as Mountain Home has the first of two consecutive road trips. Conference play continues for the Bombers and Lady Bombers, as they meet Greenwood.
Mountain Home’s girls are 2-13 on the season and 1-3. The Lady Bombers are coming off a home loss on Tuesday to Russellville. Greenwood is ranked sixth overall and second in Class 5A by the Arkansas Sports Media. The Lady Bulldogs are 12-3 and 3-0 after beating up on Siloam Springs.
The Mountain Home boys are 5-8 overall and 1-3 in the league. The Bombers fell to Russellville three nights ago. Greenwood is 5-9 and 1-3. The Bulldogs edged out Siloam Springs on Tuesday.
The junior varsity boys’ game tips off at 5 p.m. at H.B. Stewart Bulldog Arena. The varsity contests begin around 6 and can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.
Also in the 5A-West, Greenbrier travels to Alma, Vilonia hosts Van Buren, and Russellville entertains Siloam Springs.

Bakersfield’s girls will compete for the consolation title of the Cabool Basketball Classic. The Lady Lions face Summersville at 4 p.m. in the old gym.

Elsewhere, Flippin makes the trip to Centerton to take on Life Way Christian, Yellville-Summit is home against Jasper, the Gainesville boys host Mountain Grove, Viola heads to Greers Ferry to play West Side, Salem travels to Imboden to go up against Sloan-Hendrix, Calico Rock makes the short trip to Brockwell to face Izard County, Mammoth Spring will send three girls’ teams to Marmaduke, Melbourne heads to Tuckerman, Mountain View travels to Pangburn, Rural Special makes the trip to Haskell to meet Harmony Grove, Bergman entertains Elkins, and Valley Springs is home against West Fork.
