The Mountain Home High School football team opened 6A West Conference play at home Friday night against Lake Hamilton on a rough note. Brad Haworth has the details.
Listen:
Coming into the game, the Lake Hamilton starting defense had not allowed a point and the Wolves had mercy ruled all of their opponents. Both of those streaks continued as Lake Hamilton rolled to a 36-7 win over Mountain Home.
The Wolve’s defense was dominate, holding the Bombers to just 22 yards in the first half and 75 for the game. Mountain Home had just four first downs in the contest.
Lake Hamilton’s top running back, Owen Miller, is out for the season with a knee injury, but his back up didn’t miss a beat. Justin Krutchmer ran for 125 yards and four touchdowns on the night on just 12 carries. Fullback Tevin Hughes had 108 yards on 19 carries.
Lake Hamilton led 21-0 at halftime and invoked the mercy rule early in the fourth quarter.
Mountain Home was able to get on the board with 25 seconds left in the game when Cade Yates found Brody Patterson in the endzone for a 17-yard touchdown pass.
The Bombers fall to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play while Lake Hamilton improves to 4-0 and 1-0. Mountain Home will make the trip to Greenwood next Friday night.
