Thursday basketball schedule includes MHHS boys at West Plains

Basketball makes up the local Thursday schedule and includes another road trip for the Mountain Home High School boys. The Bombers will be across the state line for an outing with West Plains.
Mountain Home is currently 6-2 on the season. The Bombers went to Jonesboro on Tuesday and picked up a six-point win over Valley View. West Plains has a record of 0-3. The Zizzers started the season with three losses in the Republic Invitational Tournament.
The junior varsity boys’ game tips off at 5. The varsity contest begins around 6 and will be broadcast on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and the Bomber Sports Network on YouTube.

The Izard County Tournament continues at Cave City. The junior girls’ game between Calico Rock and Izard County will tip off at 4:30 to determine fifth place, and the day’s remaining games will be in the semifinals. Izard County’s junior boys meet Highland at 5:30, the Melbourne senior girls face Cave City at 6:30, and Melbourne’s senior boys take on Highland at 7:45.

Bakersfield will play its second game in the Mansfield Invitational Boys Basketball Tournament. The Lions will be paired with Mountain View-Liberty at 6.

Both of Lead Hill’s teams will compete in the consolation bracket of the Anstaff Bank Green Forest Holiday Tournament. The Lady Tigers meet Lincoln at 4, and the Lead Hill boys face Omaha at 8.

Bergman’s boys will be in Pea Ridge for the start of the Rumble at the Ridge. The Panthers will go up against Providence Academy at 4.

The Bergman girls will go to Northside High School in Fort Smith for their opener in the Taco Bell Tournament of Champions. The Lady Panthers’ first opponent will be Jones, Oklahoma, at 4.

Both Valley Springs teams will take part on the consolation side of the Petit Jean Basketball Classic at Morrilton. The Lady Tigers take on Clarksville at 4, and Valley Springs’ boys will play Greenbrier at 7:45.

The Harrison boys will be in Rogers for their first game in the Arvest HoopFest. The Goblins will be matched up with Conway at 4:30.

Elsewhere on the high school level, Norfork travels to Fox to meet Rural Special, Flippin hosts Shirley, Bakersfield’s girls entertain Mansfield, the Gainesville girls make the trip to Hartville, and Jasper heads to Alpena.

Mountain Home’s three junior high boys’ teams will be back in front of the home crowd as they meet Greene County Tech. The seventh grade game tips off at 4:30 followed by the eighth grade and freshman contests.

Mountain Home’s three junior high girls’ teams will also take on Greene County Tech, but their games will be at Paragould. The seventh grade game starts at 4, and the eighth grade and freshman contests will follow.

In other junior high basketball, Cotter travels to Marshall, Ozark Mountain plays Timbo on the St. Joe campus, Salem is home against Melbourne, and Mountain View makes the trip to Tuckerman.
