According to the probable cause affidavit, the Bull Shoals Police Department was dispatched to a call where a male had been hit on the head with a bottle was needing first responders. While in route, a second call was received by a woman from a liquor store state she had been hit on the head with a bottle as well. Due to the nature of the calls, officers concluded both calls were related.

Authorities stopped by the liquor store first where they made contact with 34-year-old Callie Cherry and observed blood all over her shirt and face. Cherry told officers “I thought he was going to kill me.” She continued by stating “we got into it and I yelled at him, and he just lost it and threw me around.” Cherry advised officers the blood on her wasn’t hers and stated she hit the victim in the head with a bottle and he wiped his blood on her face.

Officers then went to make contact with the victim. Upon arrival, they observed him bleeding profusely from the back of his head. The victim told authorities he did get into an argument with Cherry and she hit him in the head with a bottle. He stated, “long story short, I got hit, I turned around and smacked the hell out of her.”

When officers returned to the liquor store, they observed Cherry had calmed down. She stated she and the victim were arguing over “nonsense” until she said an said an explicative to him. She said he then got in her face and hold her to get out, but then bent down in front of her and refused to let her leave. Cherry started calling him names and he tried to get her phone. The victim wrestled it out of her hand, threw it and shouted she hit him. Cherry stated she didn’t and when she tried to go to get her phone, he shoved her into the ground causing her to hit a table. She states she hit him with a bottle trying to get away when he grabbed her, smearing blood on her face and slamming her into a table.

Cherry states the victim took her phone because she was attempting to call the police herself. Officers placed Cherry under arrest where she was booked into the Marion County Detention Center. She was released on $2,500 bond and was ordered no contact with the victim and no consumption, selling or distribution of intoxication beverages.
