A Fulton County man is facing multiple charges including a felony count of battery after resisting arrest following an accident.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Fulton County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the report of a motor vehicle accident on Squirrel Hill Road. The caller stated a male subject had gotten out of the vehicle and began cursing at them.

Upon arrival, deputies observed no one being in the vehicle and appeared to have fled the scene. Deputies located the driver 34-year-old Chad Fry and a female passenger approximately 20 yards away from the vehicle hiding in the woodline.

Fry became verbally aggressive and noncompliant with commands to not reach for a knife he stated he had in his back pocket. Fry began reaching for the knife while being restrained. He began physically resisting arrest and after a short struggle on the ground, Fry was successfully placed in hand restraints and placed into the patrol vehicle.

Once in the vehicle, Fry continued to shout profanities while beating on the windows and doors. Upon arrival to the detention center, he continued to fight jail staff and kicked a corrections officer.

Fry is charged with a felony county of battery and misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and leaving the scene of an accident. He was released from the Fulton County Detention Center on $10,000 bond.
