Several area high school baseball and softball teams were in action on Friday.
On the baseball diamond, Norfork fell to Viola 8-5, Yellville-Summit lost to Green Forest 6-0, Ozark Mountain was toppled by Marshall 13-3, and Melbourne shut out Cave City 10-0.
In high school softball, Cotter doubled up Flippin 8-4, Norfork fell to Viola 18-0, Yellville-Summit lost to Green Forest 16-9, Salem routed Hoxie 13-2, Mountain View blanked Walnut Ridge 4-0, and Valley Springs swept West Fork 23-5 and 20-5.
