A massive power outage that affected most of Baxter County early Tuesday afternoon was caused when a truck was unloading at the Baxter County Fairgrounds and the crane came in contact with a main transmission line. No injuries were reported, but the accident knocked out power to most Entergy and North Arkansas Electric Cooperative (NAEC) customers in the county along with some in Marion County.
NAEC CEO Mel Coleman says the accident affected most of their substations in Baxter County.
