
The Mountain Home High School softball team had a rough night as they went on the road Friday and fell to Farmington 3-1. Kiley Horne and Laken Anderson each went 1-for-2 and were hit by pitches, Karleigh Drewry was 1-for-2 and drew a base on balls, and Emma King went 1-for-3 and drove in the team’s lone run. The Lady Bombers drop to 8-7 on the season.
Mountain Home also came up short in the junior varsity game. The J.V. Lady Bombers were edged out by Farmington 3-2. Abby Green was 2-for-2 with an RBI, Kierra Alkire went 1-for-1 and drove in a run, Daelyn Harper and Haley Kotlicky both went 1-for-1, and Ava Fosness drew a walk and was hit by a pitch.
Mountain Home will have another road trip on Tuesday as they play a varsity doubleheader at Russellville.
Elsewhere, Yellville-Summit lost to Marshall 17-1, Viola got past Greers Ferry West Side 16-13, Bakersfield topped Summersville 14-12, Salem routed Tuckerman 13-2, Izard County fell to Quitman 3-0, and Jasper lost to Green Forest 26-16.
Gainesville was able to win its first two games in the Hartville Baseball Tournament on Friday. The Bulldogs breezed past Willow Springs 13-3 and tripled up Norwood 9-3. Gainesville will face Hartville in the championship game Saturday at 2.
In other baseball, Flippin swept Valley Springs in a doubleheader with scores of 10-0 and 11-8, Yellville-Summit defeated Marshall 11-1, Viola fell to Greers Ferry West Side 3-1, Bakersfield pounded Seymour 15-5, Dora lost to Mountain View-Liberty 5-0, Mammoth Spring was swept in its doubleheader by Armorel with scores of 10-0 and 5-1, Mountain View swept its doubleheader over Hoxie with scores of 11-0 and 14-4, Bergman beat Omaha 5-3, and Jasper dominated its doubleheader over Deer with scores of 16-1 and 23-4.
