Baxter County woman arrested for slapping, trying to shoot boyfriend

A Baxter County woman has been arrested for slapping and trying to shoot her boyfriend on her 30th birthday. Three charges, including two felonies, have been filed against Shayla Mae Blocker of Henderson.

According to the incident report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, the victim told deputies the two had gone fishing and Blocker had been drinking. She started arguing with him and he set up his phone to record it which he showed the responding deputies.

In the video, Blocker can be heard calling the victim names, slapping him and threatening to kill him. A short time later, she says, “I hope you (expletive) die the most horrible death you ever (expletive) experienced.” She then insults him a few more times and then says she is going to get the gun and “blow off your (expletive) head.”

Later in the evening, after the victim had the left the house, he returned. As he walked up to the house, Blocker came out with a shotgun, pointed it at him and pulled the trigger. The victim said he heard the gun fire on an empty chamber and he rushed her and took the gun away.

Blocker is facing felony counts of aggravated assault on a household member and terroristic threatening and a misdemeanor count of domestic battery in the third degree. She is free after posting $25,000 bond.
