The Humane Society of North Central Arkansas and national nonprofit Petco Love are inviting animal lovers to Adopt at Petco, an adoption event taking place Saturday from 10 to 2.

Petco Love President Susanne Kogut says “Petco Love is committed to creating a world where every shelter pet finds a loving family, and no pet is unnecessarily euthanized. When you adopt a pet, you know you are saving that pet’s life, but you may not realize just how much that adopted pet can change your life.”

Carolyn Cater, Shelter Manager at the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas, says “Humane Society of North Central Arkansas is committed to finding loving homes for the pets in our care. Come out and find your new best friend. When you adopt a new best friend, they come current on vaccinations, treated for parasites, spayed/neutered and receive blood work for various diseases. Adopting a shelter pet saves two lives, the one you are adopting and the next one waiting to come to the shelter.”

Petco Love has helped find homes for nearly 7 million pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations such as Humane Society of North Central Arkansas. Petco Love has invested nearly $410 million in adoption and other lifesaving efforts.

Petco is located at 1080 Hometown Commons in Mountain Home.
