Lockeroom takes win, MacLeod slips in day 2 of Twin Lakes Classic

Heavy rain and a change of venue couldn’t keep Lockeroom from clearing another win while MacLeod slipped in the third inning Friday in the second day of action at the Mickey Huskey Lockeroom Twin Lakes Classic.

Pontotoc and Bakersfield started the day with Pontotoc taking the win 7-1.

Southern Elevator then faced Jefferson City and lost 12-4.

MacLeod played Bartlesville in a close game that came to a loss for Mountain Home of 6-4. Camden Payne pitched four and two third innings striking out five and walking two.

It was a big win of 14-3 over St. Peters in the final game of the day giving Lockeroom a tournament record of 2-0. Jordan Corbett was first on the mound, striking out five and walking five. Ethan Light finished in relief. 9 hits were piled up during the game for Mountain Home and nine walks were collected.

Saturday’s schedule sees the final day of pool play as the eight teams face off at Lester White Field. Action begins at noon with Southern Elevator and St. Peters followed by MacLeod and Pontotoc at 2:30. Bakersfield and Bartlesville play at 5 and Lockeroom and Jefferson City finish out pool play at 7:30.
