One dead, one injured in holiday weekend shooting

A Poplar Grove man has been charged with first-degree murder following a shooting early Saturday that left one man dead and another hospitalized, authorities said.

The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division said it responded to a request from the Phillips County Sheriff’s Office to assist with the investigation. The shooting occurred around 2 on Saturday in the 300 block of Phillips County Road 113.

William “Red” Henderson, 38, was transported to Helena Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, officials said. A second victim, a 47-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital in a private vehicle and remains in stable condition.

Decorick Farr, 41, of Poplar Grove, was arrested by CID Company A Special Agents and charged with first-degree murder. He is being held at the Phillips County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
