Former Calico Rock resident reflects on devasting Kerrville floods

Catastrophic flooding struck the Hill Country region of Texas early Sunday morning, leaving at least 11 people unaccounted for. The flooding impacted multiple communities, including Kerrville and Hunt.KTLO, Classic Hits and the Boot news spoke with Janice Rodriguez, a resident of Kerrville, who grew up in Calico Rock. Rodriguez says that Kerrville reminds her a lot of Mountain Home and talks about the affect the flooding has had on the community.

Although the flooding occurred in Texas, Rodriguez says the Guadalupe River is very similar to the rivers and creeks residents of the Twin Lakes area may have grown up on.

Camp Mystic is a Christian summer camp located along the Guadalupe River. A number of the campers have been pronounced dead, with 11 yet to be found.
