A Midway woman charged with selling methamphetamine to persons working with law enforcement made a routine appearance in Baxter County Circuit Court/Criminal Division Monday.

Sixty-seven-year-old Cynthia Lynn Ferguson is accused of selling the drug in July, September and October of last year and in April 2025.
The purchases totaled about 32 grams of methamphetamine.

In each case, the informant would be supplied with “buy money” and would then arrange to purchase the drug from Ferguson.
The confidential informant in the various buys was equipped with electronic monitoring equipment.

Her charges include a Class Y Felony which is the most serious crime classification in Arkansas not punishable by death. It can carry up to a life sentence.
In mid-August last year, Ferguson was arrested on drug charges after a vehicle she was driving was stopped for minor traffic violations.

At the time, Ferguson was on probation with an active search waiver on file, permitting a warrantless search of her person and property.

In her purse, a Baxter County sheriff’s deputy found a glass smoking device. He also reported observing that Ferguson appeared to be hiding something in her hand.
The items proved to be a “white tube” containing a small plastic bag holding a substance field-testing positive for methamphetamine.

In that case, she was sentenced to 72 months- probation in late April last year.

Another petition for revocation has been filed in a case in which Ferguson is accused of selling a vehicle that did not belong to her in 2021.

The revocation petitions both allege that she violated the terms and conditions of her probation by being charged with crimes in Minnesota, being in Minnesota without the knowledge of her supervising probation officer, testing positive for methamphetamine and by not paying fines and fees as directed by the court.
