
A former Mountain Home Baseball alum set the D2 baseball scene on fire this last spring. Former Mountain Home Bomber Will Beckham has racked up a slew of awards this past spring after an outstanding season at Missouri S&T that culminated in a visit to the NCAA Tournament. Beckham was named was named to the College Sports Communicators All-American Third Team, earned a first team All-GLVC Honor, was named second team All-Region, and was named to the All-Region defensive team.
Beckham led Missouri S&T with a 1.080 OPS as well as a .596 slugging percentage. He recorded 56 hits, 37 RBIs and 39 runs. His 7 home runs were tied for the most on the Miners this year. Additionally, Beckham finished the season with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.
Beckham, who started his collegiate baseball career in the JUCO ranks at National Park College and then NorthArk, says that S&T has been smooth so far.

The Miners entered the conference tournament as the 7-seed and dropped their first game against Illinois Springfield. They would then win the next five games against Maryville, Quincy, Missouri-St. Louis twice, and avenged their earlier loss to Illinois Springfield en route to the schools first GLVC conference baseball championship.
Beckham says the team entered the streak with a “not today” mindset.

Beckham said his main goal for himself was to just crack into the lineup. Beckham, a mechanical engineering major, who also maintained a 4.0 GPA, goes on to explain what went into him going to Missouri S&T.
