Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH) is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, marking three decades of providing higher education and workforce training in north central Arkansas.

Established on July 1, 1995, as part of the Arkansas State University System, ASUMH replaced the former Mountain Home Community and Technical College. Since its founding, the college has served thousands of students through its associate degree programs, technical certificates, and community education offerings.

Originally holding classes in downtown Mountain Home, ASUMH moved to its current 140-acre campus in 2000. The campus includes academic buildings, a library, a performing arts venue, and facilities for health sciences and technical education.

Vice Chancellor Christy Keirn says preparations are underway for a year-long celebration, including alumni events, guest speakers, and community engagement initiatives.

ASUMH remains an open-access, two-year institution with a mission to serve both traditional students and adult learners. In recent years, the college has expanded its focus on career and technical programs aligned with regional workforce needs, including healthcare, information technology, and manufacturing.

More details about the 30th anniversary events will be announced later this year.
