The 184th Attack Squadron, stationed at Ebbing Air National Guard Base, has been awarded the 2024 General Atomics Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) Trophy, officially recognizing it as the top RPA squadron across the entire U.S. Air Force, including active duty, Guard, and Reserve units.

Operating under the 188th Operations Group at the 188th Wing, the 184th stood out for its exceptional performance over the past year, including:

Executing 314 combat sorties

Providing 5,972 hours of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR)

Supporting three named operations overseas

In a historic milestone, the 184th became the first unit directly tasked by the President of the United States to provide overwatch during humanitarian aid airdrops. The squadron also led the Air Force in MQ-9 non-traditional defensive counter-air and counter-small unmanned aerial system (C-sUAS) missions—accounting for 66% of all such missions Air Force-wide.

“I am immensely proud of the 184th Attack Squadron and the entire 188th Operations Group, whose combined efforts, flexibility and support earned the title of Best RPA Squadron in the Air Force,” said Lt. Col. Daniel Munoz, commander of the 188th Operations Group.

“Their unmatched professionalism and warfighter mentality exemplify the power of Total Force Integration, delivering unparalleled mission success and providing consistent short-notice RPA capability overseas.”

The General Atomics RPA Trophy is awarded annually to the most outstanding RPA unit in the nation. This year’s honor reflects not only the squadron’s operational excellence but also its leadership within the MQ-9 Reaper community and its vision for the future of remotely piloted combat aviation.

Known as the “Flying Razorbacks,” the 188th Wing is a cornerstone of the Arkansas Air National Guard, providing cutting-edge support to national defense operations around the globe.
