Stealing bar of soap, can of coffee leads to felony charge against area woman

A Searcy County woman who broke into a home and stole a bar of soap and a can of coffee has been arrested on two charges, including one felony. Being held in the Searcy County Jail is 51-year-old Monica Alicea of rural Marshall.
According to the probable cause affidavit from the Searcy County Sheriff’s Office, the victim reported to deputies Alicia forced a window air conditioner out of place and entered his residence. While she was in the house, she stole a bar of soap and a can of coffee.According to the victim, before leaving, Alicea manipulated the back door so she could re-enter the residence at her leisure.

Alicea has the same address as the victim, but they do not share a residence. She resides in a camper quite a distance from the victim’s home on the same property.

Alicea is charged with a felony count of residential burglary and a misdemeanor count of theft of property. A no contact order has also been issued between Alicea and the victim. Alicea is being held in the Searcy County Jail without bond pending her arraignment in circuit court Monday.
