When probation and parole officers conducted a compliance visit to the residence of 41-year-old Miranda Pinkston in late March last year, they reported finding drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Pinkston appeared during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court/Criminal Division Monday and pled guilty to a number of drug-related charges.
She was sentenced to six years in prison with a judicial transfer to one of the community correction centers in the state for addiction treatment.
The March visit was made to a camper trailer located along Creek Bank Lane which is serviced by the Calico Rock Post Office. The officers reported finding a plastic bag containing methamphetamine, seven Oxycodone pills, glass smoking pipes, a digital scale, marijuana seeds and a clear bottle with marijuana inside.
Pinkston had initially rejected the plea agreement offered by the state but, after a time, returned to say she wanted to enter a guilty plea.
Circuit Judge John Putman questioned Pinkston until he was satisfied that she felt the plea deal was the best avenue for her to take.
After she had answered his questions, the judge accepted the plea calling for the judicial transfer.
A second person, 47-year-old Nicholas Speak also lived in the camper trailer with Pinkston and also faces drug charges stemming from the compliance visit as well as those in two 2023 cases.
He is scheduled to reappear in circuit court July 21 and is expected to enter a plea at that time.
