Mountain Home and the Twin Lakes area are experiencing dangerous heat levels this week, with temperatures climbing well into the upper 90s and heat index values exceeding 105 degrees.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory, warning residents of increased health risks due to prolonged exposure and physical activity in the high temperatures. The excessive heat is expected to continue through the weekend.
Local health officials urge residents to take precautions, including staying indoors during peak afternoon hours, drinking plenty of water, and avoiding strenuous outdoor activity.
KTLO, Classic Hits and the Boot News spoke with meterologist, Eric Greene, who says the heat isn’t going anywhere.
