The Mountain Home Lockeroom American Legion baseball team is set to take on Sheridan at 8 Friday evening in the opening round of the AAA American Legion State Tournament.
The game will be played at Bryant High School, the host site for this year’s tournament. Mountain Home enters the tournament after a strong finish in zone play, earning a spot among the top teams in the state.
Sheridan, a perennial contender in the state tournament, will present a tough challenge for the Lockeroom squad. The two teams last met in the 2023 postseason, when Sheridan edged out Mountain Home in a close contest.
Mountain Home will look to rely on consistent pitching and timely hitting to advance in the double-elimination tournament.
The winner of Friday night’s matchup will move on to face the winner of the RussellvilleTexarkana game in the next round.
