The Mountain Home High School Class of 1965 will celebrate its 60th reunion during homecoming weekend, October 10-11, with a series of casual gatherings and events aimed at reconnecting old friends.
Class historian Jackie Edmonds said the reunion will begin Friday, October 10, with a registration “meet and greet” from 2 p.m. to at least 6:30 p.m. at the Bomber House, located on the campus of Pinkston Middle School at 1301 South College Street. The building, which now serves as the Bomber Room, was the former home economics facility when the class attended high school there.
That evening, classmates are invited to attend the Mountain Home Bombers football game as they host Russellville High School.
On Saturday, October 11, the class will gather for dinner at 6 at The Back Forty Restaurant, located at 1400 Highway 62 East. Attendees will order from the menu and pay individually. Dress for both events is casual.
Edmonds said a letter will be sent soon to classmates with known addresses. He added that the reunion committee is still seeking contact information for a handful of classmates: Jim Baker, Karen Biewick, George Bradley, Richard Brow, Carolyn Clancy, Bonnie Craig, Bonnie Hatfield, Gary Hughes, Jordie Nelson, Linda Shell, Peter Schmatz, Barbara Smiley, and Carol Stiles.
Anyone with information on these individuals is asked to contact Edmonds by email at edmonds@suddenlink.net or by phone at (870) 421-0617 or (870) 425-8859.
An informal committee meeting to finalize reunion plans will take place at 5 on Monday, Aug. 12, at the Donald W. Reynolds Library. Edmonds encouraged any classmates interested in helping with preparations to attend.
