
The Mountain Home Lockeroom American Legion baseball team claimed the Arkansas AAA State Championship on Tuesday, capping off a dominant tournament run with an 11 to 8 win over Fort Smith in the title game.
The championship marks a major milestone for the program and adds to Lockeroom’s legacy in American Legion baseball with the first state championship since 1997.

Lockeroom advanced through the tournament with wins over Sheridan, Conway and Bryant. Coach White says a combination of pitching and chemistry is what made this team different than ones he has coached in the past.

The state title earns Lockeroom a spot in the Mid-South Regional Tournament, where the team will represent Arkansas against other top programs from around the region. They will take on Columbia, Tennessee on Wednesday with first pitch set for 9:30.
